This is the suicide tape of the night before the mass suicides.
(CHEERS FROM THE AUDIENCE)
Jim Jones; (chanting like and Indian) If...If by any chance you would make a mistake to try to come in and take only one of us, we will not let you. You will die, you will have to pick anybody over all our dead bodies.
(Unknown male voice:) Love is the only weapon,.
Jim Jones: Shit. bullshit. Martin Luther died talking about some kind of generalized love and he never even backed it up. Bullshit, love is the only weapon with which I got to fight. I got a hell of a lot of weapons to fight. I got my claws, I got cutlasses, I got guns. I got dynamite. I've got a hell of a lot to fight. I'll fight. I'll fight, Ahhhhhh, Ahhhhhh, I will fight. I will fight, I will fight, I will fight.
(CHEERS FROM THE AUDIENCE)
Jim Jones: Let them hear it in the night.
(CHEERS FROM THE AUDIENCE)
Jim Jones: Youuu, ahhhh, ahhhh, ahhhh, ahhhhh, ahhhhh, ask me to fight.
(CHEERS FROM THE AUDIENCE)
Jim Jones: Let the night roar with us. They're out there, they're out there. They're listening. Let the night roar with us. Ahhhh, Ahhhh. Let the night roar, because they can hear us. They know we mean it. We'll kill them if they come. Ohhh...............
This is the suicide tape the night of the mass suicides. You can hear children crying in the background. Jim Jones is far more subdued on this tape. It does contain the last words of the mass suicide tape. All the tapes contents were not in the performance. Therefore they were not transcribed.
(Unknown male voice:) Hello. I'd like to say that my so called parents are fill with hate...
Jim Jones: Stop this, stop this, stop this crime...
(male voice) ...and treachery. I think you people out here should think about how your relatives was, and be glad about that the children are being aid to rest. And I'd like to say that I thank Dad for making me strong to stand with it all and make me ready for it. Amen.
Jim Jones: All you're doing is to take a drink to go to sleep. That's all death is, sleep.
(Screaming child in the audience)
Jim Jones: Whatever, I'm tired of it all.
(Female voice:) The most living thing we could have ever done; the most loving thing most of us could have done. And it's been a pleasure walking with all of you in this revolutionary struggle. No other way I would rather go than to live my life for Socialism, Communism, and I thank Dad very, very much.
(Older Female voice:) Dad's love and his goodness and kindness, and death, toward this line of freedom. His love, his motto was the advent and the advent God to Socialism and.. it could go on forever.. I'm gonna put in a good word...
Jim Jones: No need for that, for that, for that, for that, no need for that..
(Older Female voice:) It'll go on forever, till the end of time and thank you Dad.
Jim Jones: so the adults can begin. If you can't follow my advice, you'll be sorry. Better you do it than let them do it.
(Audience): That's right.
Jim Jones: Just trust in that you have to step across. We used to sing that this world. this world is not our home, well it sure isn't. We would sing, it sure wasn't. And then you're telling me all these things that they're telling me. Assure these children, some people assure these children of the relaxation of stepping over to the next plane. We'll set an example for others. We stepped 1000 people who said, "we don't like the world the way it is." Take our life from us. We laid it down, we got tired. We didn't commit suicide. We committed an act of revolutionary suicide protesting the conditions of an inhumane world.
The media, at the time, told us, over, and over and over that the people didn't know that they were committing suicide. When listening to the tape it is obvious that they did know. The media also did not tell us that is was an "act of revolutionary suicide protesting the conditions of an inhuman world." They also did not tell us that it was for Socialism and Communism.
